Cihtli Ocampo will be back in San Diego on Saturday, March 23rd to teach her Technique, Choreography and Bata de Cola workshops. This will be the last week that she will be working on Alegrias in the Choreography part, so don't miss it! She will review the Escobilla and teach the Silencio in order to complete the choreography. Cihtli will also be available for privates.

* The bata class will now have two levels. The beginning students will start at 4:30 so as to have 1/2 hour alone with Cihtli to work on proper placement and technique. The Intermediate students will then join the class at 5:00 and everyone will go through the technique exercises and choreography together until 6:00 when the Beginning students leave. The last 1/2 hour of the class from 6:00-6:30 will be for the Intermediate students to go through the choreography focusing less on technique and more on style, speed and execution.

This summer, students will experience the Flamenco Familiar Summer Retreat, a day retreat in an intimate setting including Baile, Cante, Palmas, Cajon along with Yoga & an Injury Prevention presentation.

Flamenco is passed down from generation to generation through its oral history and the careful training from its elders. From father to son, mother to daughter, uncles and aunts to nieces and nephews, from grandparents to their close-knitted community environment, flamencos listen to, dance, play guitar, do palmas, and sing everyday in the intimate setting of their homes.

Cihtli Ocampo and Ethan Margolis from Arte y Pureza return to San Diego on Sunday, May 22nd to teach their dynamic Flamenco workshops at the California Ballet Studios in San Diego.
Take your flamenco to the next level with the guidance of two great flamenco performers!Cihtli Ocampo brings her dance Technique & Choreography workshop, while Ethan will teach his signature workshop "Understanding Bulerias" (Beginners) as well as a brand new "Advanced Baile Review" class. Both artists will also be available for private classes. The California Ballet is located at 4819 Ronson Court in Kearny Mesa.
